Staff/Project Biologist

Padre Associates, Inc is seeking a mid-level professional for our Ventura, California Office.  This is a full-time position.

 Primary Responsibilities.

Seeking a biologist with minimum of 3 years of experience to conduct botanical and wildlife surveys for projects in Ventura County and surrounding areas.  Would also assist in construction monitoring, wetland delineations, project permitting, and designing, implementation and monitoring of site restoration plans.  A biologist with knowledge of rare plants, sensitive wildlife species and proficient technical writing skills is desired.    

 Qualifications.

The preferred qualifications are 1) bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, or related field; 2) 3 years of experience in environmental consulting 3) good analytical and writing skills, and 4) Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office, and have good written and verbal communication skills.

Regulatory Specialist

Padre Associates, Inc is seeking a mid- to senior-level professional for our San Luis Obispo or Guadalupe Field, Office.  This is a full-time position.

 Primary Responsibilities.

Seeking regulatory, permitting or environmental planner with experience supporting  large infrastructure and remediation projects in Coastal California.  Responsibilities include management and implementation of environmental regulatory compliance program, and permit acquisition involving numerous agencies.  Tasks would also include oversight and documentation of compliance with environmental and geo-environmental permit conditions.  Would be responsible for report writing, report quality review, project-related technical tasks, and maintaining budgets.   

 Qualifications.

The preferred qualifications are 1) bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental studies, environmental planning, or related field; 2) 5 to 8 years of experience in environmental consulting 3) good analytical and writing skills, and 4) familiarity with the CEQA/NEPA process and/or permitting process for coastal and onshore oil and gas and infrastructure projects. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office, and have good written and verbal communication skills.

Marine Scientist/Biologist

Padre Associates, Inc is seeking a mid- to senior-level professional with education in marine sciences/biology for our Concord, California Office.  This is a full-time position.

 Primary Responsibilities.

Working with senior staff on a wide range of marine-related projects including conducting focused field studies, preparing study reports, conducting impact analyses suitable for submission to resource agencies, completion of marine-related analysis for permit applications and associated CEQA/NEPA documentation.  Individual should be able to work independently or as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team. 

 Qualifications.

The preferred qualifications are 1) bachelor’s degree or higher in marine biology, biological oceanography, or related field; 2) 5 to 8 years of experience in environmental consulting 3) certified SCUBA diver with experience in field data collection methods; 4) good analytical and writing skills, and 4) familiarity with the CEQA/NEPA process and/or permitting process for coastal development projects. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office, and have good writing and verbal communication skills. 

Hydrologist/Water Quality Specialist

Padre Associates, Inc. is seeking a mid-level professional with experience in water resources, hydrology, and/or water quality for our Concord and/or Sacramento offices.  This is a full-time position.

 Primary Responsibilities.

Individual will work with senior staff on a wide range of water resource and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout California.  Work tasks will include 1) field and literature data collection and analyses; 2) CEQA/NEPA technical sections preparation; 3) preparation of water quality-related permit applications for state and federal resource agencies; and 4) preparing and executing mitigation monitoring plans, including field verification with agency staff and construction contractors.  Individual should be able to work independently or as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team. 

 Qualifications.

The preferred qualifications are 1) bachelor’s degree or higher in hydrology/water quality, planning, or a related field; 2) 3 to 5 years of experience in environmental consulting 3) good analytical and writing skills, and 4) familiarity with the CEQA/NEPA process and/or agencies’ permitting processes. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office, have good writing and verbal communication skills, and work independently and as part of large and diverse multi-disciplinary team.  Preference will be given to applicants with northern California and SF Bay/Delta experience.
