The Padre Ventura office held a salsa contest. Entrants included Aubrey, Tony Jerome, Jess and Marco. The variety of salsas was remarkable especially considering they did not coordinate on the effort. Salsas included those of the chunky, smooth, fruity and green varieties. Staff had the joy of tasting and voting on their favorite. The winning salsa was a chunky variety prepared by Aubrey who shares her recipe below.
Aubrey Rungren’s Prize Winning Salsa Recipe
3 roma tomatoes
2 cans fire roasted tomatoes (Trader Joes)
1 bundle of cilantro
1 bundle of green onion
3 whole green chilies (take seeds out)
1 red onion
7 garlic cloves
1 ½ limes
Chop, squeeze (limes), and mix.
