The Padre San Luis Obispo Office is hiring a staff-level archaeologist.
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include conducting archaeological pedestrian surveys, participating in subsurface testing and data recovery excavations, laboratory analysis, report writing, and construction monitoring. Additional tasks include proposal and cost estimate preparation, marketing, and CEQA document preparation.
Requirements: The successful candidate should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field; completed an accredited field school and/or at least 1 year experience conducting fieldwork in California; be highly motivated and enthusiastic; ability to work in both group and individual settings; have strong analytical, writing, interpersonal, and problem solving skills; and an interest in pursuing professional growth in a growing midsized consulting firm. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and the use of internet is required. Candidates must be willing to conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather conditions, often in rugged terrain, and be able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds. Current 40hr HAZWOPER training is highly desired.
